The Old Wine
press is arranged on two storeys.
Upstairs is a large shaded
terrace facing West so you get a great view of the sunset over the
surrounding olive groves. The double bedroom has a high beamed ceiling and
wooden floor, with en-suite
bathroom and smaller roof terrace beyond.
The roof terraces look out over the semi-circular ridge of hills
which partly encircle our village of Gavalohori to the south.
The small terrace adjoining the upstairs en-suite bathroom faces
south and east so you can see the sun rise should you wish to
get up early! It has a table and two chairs and is a quiet place
to read or have breakfast.
There is also a courtyard to the side of the house, accessed by French windows
from the living room, which is surrounded by stone walls and a gate to make it totally private.
This measures about 8m x 3.5m and contains garden table and chairs, a large parasol
and barbecue.
Downstairs the living room has two traditional banquette-style
single beds, an open log fire and French windows to the side garden courtyard
and an en-suite shower room.
The Old wine
press has free standing fans in all rooms, air conditioning
upstairs, full oil fired central heating.
